At 20:30 on Monday 23rd March 2020 the UK Prime Minster announced further measures to help reduce spread of Coronavirus COVID-19.
The country has in essence been placed into ‘lockdown’, and during the announcement Boris Johnson told the nation to only leave home for the following:
The above should be the only reasons why you should leave your home.
Alongside these rules, the government have announced that all shops who are not deemed as selling essential goods will close, including clothing, electronics, libraries etc.
Places of worship, weddings and baptisms will also be stopped and funerals will only go ahead for immediate family.
If people do not follow the rules, the police has the power to impose fines or disperse people.
What does this mean for my business?
By now, most businesses are either closing or working from home. Unless you are deemed as a key employer or an essential business, you should be preparing for this, if you haven’t already.
